Google Tours in Fountain Square

IMG_0558.jpg

The Fountain Square Theatre Building is too good for the common "like" on Facebook and deserves intimate late night, overnight, and any night rendezvous on a regular.

If Pulp Fiction took place in Indy, I can imagine Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace sitting in a red booth telling each other bad tomato jokes over a Not-Five-Dollar Milkshake.

It just has that kind of vibe… an oldie but goodie, too cool for school, Team Fonzy, kind of vibe.

The vibe isn't just limited to the FSQ building either, the entire Fountain Square district has the exact same swag. <- Yeah, I said it. FSQ is even throwing their first annual Music Fest this summer!

When visiting the Fountain Square Theatre Building, there are a few things you must do (Not necessarily in this order):

Explore Google Tour: Go Swing Dancing At The Theatre

Explore Google Tour: BBQ At The Smokehouse

Explore Google Tour: Drinks with Brian @ Imbibe

Explore Google Tour: Duckpin Bowling @ Atomic  & Action Bowl

Explore Google Tour: Overnight Stay @ Fountain View Inn

Explore Google Tour: Breakfast @ End Of The Line Public House

Visit Indy & Google Tours.

Howdy, Partner.

Visit_Indy_logo_15col.jpg

Visit Indy is Indianapolis' appointed team who tirelessly promote our city at all levels and we're thrilled that You Are Here Photography has officially partnered with such an awesome movement.

Visit Indy does more than go around and tell people how rad Indianapolis is, they increase tourism, boost our economy, and are avid supporters of everything local.

Here are a few mind-blowing statistics that you probably didn't know:

  • Indianapolis gets on average 22 MILLION annual visitors
  • Indianapolis visitors spends roughly $3.56 BILLION Dollars per year
  • Indianapolis visitors support almost 70,000 jobs in our hospitality industry

Wowza.

It only made sense to have a sit down with Visit Indy and talk about how we can help contribute to those numbers with our services as Google Trusted Photographers. Think about it. Google Virtual Tours are a sure way for visitors or locals who are unfamiliar, get familiar before even landing w/in our state's borderlines.

Yes, most of us who live here know about St. Elmo Steak House, but does a Canadian here on business know about St. Elmo Steak House or our other secret gems?

I think they ask Siri who then probably checks with Google.

Check out how Visit Indy integrated our Google Virtual Tours on their website.

The Shrine...ing | Indiana War Memorial's Google Virtual Tour

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.”  -G.K. Chesterton

You Are Here Photography, Indiana's #1 Photography Team for Google Business View had the pleasure of shooting a Google Tour for one of Indiana's most beloved places, the Indiana War Memorial.

Established in 1919 as the National HQ's of the American Legion and to serve as a memorial to our Nation's Veterans, this place is  jam packed with history and it's free for everyone to enjoy.

I must admit, some of the injured mannequins decked out in soldier uniforms with bloody gauze wrapped around their head was a little creepy, but it was war after all.

I believe their intent was not to glorify battle, but to remind us of the sacrifices our past and future veterans have made and will make.

Thanks for reminding me, War Memorial and the next Mr./Ms. Veteran I see, I will hold out my hand for a shake and thank them for keeping my family safe.

So, if you're searching through Nuvo trying to find something "Cool" to do, go school yourself at the Indiana War Memorial.

Have fun, learn something new, and pay some respect without having to pay any dollars.

Visit the Indiana War Memorial, now a Virtual Tour on Google.

When visiting, there are a few key places you should check out:

1. The Shrine

2. The Cobra Attack Helicopter

3. The Auditorium

4. Their Donation Drop

Google Virtual Tours

2013.jpg

2012 was an exciting year.

Our team has shot and published over 100 Google Tours using Google's awesome Street View Technology.

For us, the best part of being a Google Trusted Photographer has been the priveledge to experience and share local Indiana businesses with the rest of the world.

Indiana is not just a crossroad, but it's a place worth checking out.

When we think about our work in 2012, we don't think of numbers or personal accomplishments, but instead, we think of the dog-loving, open and honest, Barbara Munchel at the Cigar Haven. We think of the Hot Pink Gorilla Suit worn by Fat Atom's Creative Director. We think of Roy at Mudbugs and how his Crawfish Casserole and Beignets make me want to bring them both to a party and say, "I made that". We think of the volunteer-powered bookstore, Bloomington knows as Boxcar Books. We think of St. Elmo's and how they embraced us, believed in us and were just down right nice.

Those thoughts are how we determined that 2012 was one damn good year.

Don't judge a business by their curb appeal because it's really what's on the inside that counts and I'm not referring to tables and chairs, but rather the owners and crew... they are what makes a place so special.

Here are 10 of our favorite Google Tours from 2012 & here's to experiencing many more Indy businesses in 2013!
